There's a direct link between adventure and achieving your health, wellness and lifestyle goals.

It's believing in something you can't see.

They're both exciting and terrifying in equal measures and it can be hard to know where to begin but with the help of todays adventure travel expert guest, you're going to find out.

Let's get started!

Before I became a full time Health Coach, I was the owner of an adventure travel company and spent over eight years working as an adventure tour leader for one of the most successful adventure travel companies in the industry — Tucan Travel.

When was the last time you felt truly inspired?

If you're looking to add a little more adventure to your life then this episode is for you. My guest today is Matt Gannan, CEO of the award winning international adventure travel company, Tucan Travel.

With over thirty years experience in the adventure travel industry and a lifetime of personal travel, you're going to learn from the best! Here's what Matt will be sharing:

  • 3 simple tips to help you get started with having your own adventures
  • The truth about adventure travel and how to get through the tough times

  • How to cope with stressful situations when you're on the road

And much more!

The 3 simple tips Matt shares that will help you get started with having your own adventure are:

  1. Consider doing a group trip first to help 'dust the gum leaves off you.' If you're not an experienced traveler, group trips help you understand how things work, what to do, what not to do and will give you the confidence to go solo at a later stage when you feel more confident.

  2. Start with the well beaten path. Start somewhere easy and simple like Asia or Europe.

  3. Know that you will make mistakes. You will feel stupid at some point in your travels— just shake it off and move on.

What's something about adventure travel we wont find about online or in a book?

Travel isn't always the golden experience you imagine, traveling somewhere different puts you outside your comfort zone, inevitably there will be times when you get cold, tired, hungry, angry or sick.

Learn from those experience to try and be patient, think ahead to when the discomfort will be over and don't worry about what's going to happen to you tonight, just relax and you'll be fine.
