February is the month of love and from Dr. Maya Angelou's wise words let's take her message with us this month and:

SPREAD THE LOVE!

February is the month of love -- what one thing could you do this month that a friend, parent, sibling or partner would love? What would delight them? Even if you live thousands of miles away from your significant other, there are hundreds of great options. I'm not affiliated with any of these companies, I just love what they're doing and think they would make great 'I'm thinking of you and I love you' gifts; an organic veg box,  an adventurea print photo album, a healthy experience you can do together, a learning experience, a simple personalized card, a healthy snack box and a magazine subscription.  Have a think about this one and then start spreading the love.

Also, how about spreading the love to people you don't know by paying it forward? Next time you're in a coffee shop, leave an extra couple of $ to pay for the next person's coffee, so simple, so do-able.

TAKE A COOKING CLASS

If you're looking to get fit and healthy this year then get cooking! There are so many benefits of learning or improving your kitchen-know-how; you'll get to have better, more nourishing, more satisfying meals at home, you'll feel a sense of accomplishment, you'll connect with others and re-connect to your senses.  Whether you're starting from scratch, or you're an accomplished cook, taking a professional cooking class is a great winter activity -- get googling healthy cooking classes near me and see what comes up.

COMMIT TO 5-MINUTES OF SELF CARE

Have you ever heard of body scrubbing? You can do it anywhere in the world, all you need is hot water and a medium sized cotton towel -- easy! The benefits are endless; promotes circulation, reduces muscle tension, opens the pores to release toxins and calms the mind.

Put your towel under very hot water and wring it out, while the towel is still hot and steamy, begin to scrub your skin gently. Do one section of your body at a time, for example, begin with your hands and fingers, then work your way up the arms to your shoulders, neck and face, then down to your chest, upper back, abdomen, lower back, buttocks, legs, feet, and toes.

HOST A DINNER PARTY

I love dinner parties -- the food, the conversation, the intimacy, love it! If you're on the road a lot hosting a dinner party when you are home is such a great way to connect up with family and friends. Even better, make it a themed dinner party (if you ever meet me ask me about 'that dinner party in Spain'), also if you commit to step 2 you'll get to impress the pants off everyone with your new culinary skills -- not a fan of cooking? Make it a pot luck style dinner party where everyone brings a dish.

MAKE A WINTER PLAYLIST

Get yourself over to Spotify and create a playlist of mood boosting tunes to beat the winter blues and stay motivated to keep going for your health and wellness goals.
